Partizan - Lietuvos RytasStatistically line is fair here. Bookies set everything fine but we have huge situational and motivation factor here. If Partizan lose this game they will need to win against Olympiacos away from home next week (and Oly is not PAO which can lose a game to Partizan when needed). If Partizan just win against Rytas they will depend from Rytas and Efes results. But if they win by 23 points they are already in Top-16!
"It will be a hard game tomorrow, but I am still optimistic. It is not smart to start the game with one thing in mind, which is beat Lietuvos Rytas with a 23-point margin or more. We lost the first game in Lituania by 22 points, but things changed since then. If we played again in Lituania, I am not sure we would lose with so huge a margin again. As a matter of fact, I am not sure we would lose a game there."
I am sure that Vujosevic wants to win by 23 points as well as his boys. And I know and feel that they can do this. Rytas will be satisfied with loss because at home they really can beat Unicaja, or Olympiacos can win against Efes tomorrow and send both Rytas and Partizan into Top-16 stage (but I honestly speaking I think Efes will win tomorrow).
So my pick here Partizan to cover -5.5 handicap quite easily because young Rytas players never had played in such hot arena and they might meet serious problems today.
Pick: Partizan -5.5 @ 1.89 5/10 Pinnacle
Montepaschi - Fenerbahce Ulker
Montepaschi Siena:
- Head coach Simone Pianigiani has a full squad available for the game against Fenerbahce Ulker.
Fenerbahce Ulker:
- Lynn Greer is available to play after recovering from a sprained ankle.
- Omer Asik will miss two months after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured collarbone.
- Mirsad Turkcan is expected to be in the squad for the first time this season after a lengthy groin injury.
Montepaschi has no motivation in this match but they play at home and it means they will play for a win. Fenerbahce after unexpected loss to Asvel and another loss to Cibona is more motivated. Sure they still can decide everything with a win over Zalgiris but who knows what can happed in one game... Fenerbahce will miss Asik again but they still have very deep rotation on 4-5 position and this may deliver a lot of troubles to Montepaschi which is not so deep and strong there.
For sure Montepaschi is stronger as a team but -15.5 handicap is too big to cover for them. I think that Fenerbahce with its defense and ability to control rebounds can stay in the game during at least 35 minutes of the game. As far as I remember Montepaschi has a lot of problems with Fenerbahce last season and I would not be surpsied with another close game.
Pick: Fenerbahce +15.5 @ 1.95 3/10 Pinnacle
PAO - Prokom
Panathinaikos:
- Dimitris Diamantidis will miss the game against Prokom due to a groin injury that will keep him out till mid-January.
- Nikola Pekovic is questionable after suffering an injury in the Greek League.
- Kostas Tsartsaris played ill in the Greek League on Sunday and is a question mark for Wednesday’s game.
Asseco Prokom:
- Reserve guard Przemyslaw Zamojski played for the first time this season in the Polish League over the winter break and is fit to make his first Euroleague appearance too.
- Ronnie Burrell missed a Polish League game over the weekend to rest, but is expected to play Wednesday.
- Ratko Varda signed over the winter break and is expected to play this week.
Nobet game for me. Pao is much stronger than Prokom and has enough players in the roster to cover all possible absences. But a lot will depend on PAO attitude on the court. After loss to Real they might be angry or may miss motivation again because their fight for top position in the group is almost over. They depend from Real Madrid in Italy next week and the only thing they need is just to win against Prokom. I think that handicap is a bit too high but I don't like to bet on game where PAO is a big favorite and I will skip it.
According to PAO official site Obradovic is planning to limit Spanoulis time today or maybe will rest him so Spanoulis under 12.5 points maybe is the best choice for a TV-pick.
Pick: Spanoulis under 12.5 points @ 1.83 3/10 Sportingbet
Real Madrid - EWE Baskets Oldenburg
Real Madrid:
- Sergio Llull is sidelined with a low ankle sprain.
- Madrid registered Marko Jaric and Alberto Jodar in time to for the game against EWE Baskets Oldenburg.
- Tomas Van den Spiegel will be sidelined for four months with a leg injury.
- Felipe Reyes returned to practice this week and is expected to play against Oldenburg.
- Travis Hansen missed the last two games in the Spanish League and is questionable against Oldenburg.
EWE Baskets Oldenburg:
- Jasmin Perkovic will miss the next six weeks with a partially ruptured meniscus.
Real is coming out from Christmas crisis. They are nobet team for me in the following 1-2 weeks. Oldenburg is missing its key player and has not motivation. Real is huge favorite here but backing Real at such big handicap is the most stupid thing long-term profit seeking punter can do. It is better just to skip this game.
Caja Laboral - Maroussi BC
Caja Laboral:
- Walter Herrmann returned to action in the Spanish League and is expected to make his Euroleague debut with Laboral against Maroussi this week.
- Laboral released forward Vladimir Micov.
- Brad Oleson will be sidelined for at least six more weeks due to an ankle injury.
Maroussi BC:
- Fanis Koumpouras has yet to play this season due to a leg injury.
- Levon Kendall will miss the remainder of the regular season with ligament damage in his left ankle.
- Giorgos Diamantopoulos has a back injury and is not expectec to travel to Vitoria.
Another game which can go in too many possible scenarios to bet on it. Skip.
