Seattle Storm at Phoenix Mercury Betting preview: Teams already played 3 times this season and totals of those games were: 167 (80-87), 184 (97-87) and 175 (94-81). But in first game (80-87) teams played one quarter when both teams managed to score only 28 points (14-14) while in other 11 quarters average total was 45.2 points per quarter. Both team likes offensive basketball and both teams have good shooters so I think that today there is a good chance to catch one more over. Seattle and Phoenix played with low tempo teams recently and that affected on their overall total by dropping it down. Take a look at Seattle defensive stats in last 10 games: they allowed 64.8 in 6 games with NY, LA, Indiana, Minnesota and Sacramento. But they got 86 from Charlotte and 92 from Connecticut and there was the same perfomance in the beginning of the season. Looks like from shooting teams like Phoenix Seattle allowing somewhere in 84-90 range. And Phoenix have all weapons to score 85-87 points and they proved this already by scoring 80+ points in all 3 games with Storm this season. Also I have to say that Storm have 2 injured players Palmer and Bruise, as well as Vodickova injured for Phoenix. These player absence today should bring more speed to the game and more shooting perfomance. And this still is a good sign for me to try over here. The only problem I see here that teams could repeat 28 points quarter and this could kill OVER bet because teams will need to score 46 points per quarter to cover 166 total, but even such scenario is not a problem for these teams. So I will try over with medium-low stakes because I my line is somewhere about 172 points. Predicted score: Phoenix 88 84 Seattle Pick: OVER 166 (medium low stakes)
Sacramento Monarchs (16-8) at Indiana Fever (15-9)
SPREAD: Indiana -3 TOTAL: 131 Ok both teams are defensive and low-tempo teams but 131... it one of the lowest totals I have ever seen this season. Sacramento won last 7 games and while their average score was 73-66 (139). And more of that Sacramento have scored 70+ points in 8 of last 10 games and it seems that their bad mood have disapperead after All Star Break and they started to win games by showing good defensive and offensive performance. Also Sacramento in 7 of last 10 games have allowed more than 60 points, it's important factor taking into account that Indiana scored less than 60 points only once this season, while the home averageis 67.6-66. So what do we have after reviewing both teams defensive and offensive stats. Seems that both teams are able to score 60 points as well as allow the same points amount. But currently Sacramento are in top form and it seems that they have more power to get win today. And I expect that they will get that win in hard match. Also it's worth to look into their first match when Sacramento won 82-61. After first quarter score was 16-7 (23 points) but than teams found their rythm and scored 120 points in 3 quarters (40 pts per quarter in avg.). One more reason to try over today because seems that both teams know how to score against opponent. Predicted score: Indiana 68 - 71 Sacramento Pick: OVER 132 (Medium-high stake)
