Alba Berlin - BG 74 Goettingen
League debutant won both reg. season games because of new for Germany basketball game tactics, based on the active full-court defense and so-called "small-ball." As a result of this tactic Goettingen makes 30 three pointers per match, resulting into high scoring offense (89,5 points in the first two games & 96 points in preseason), but also they don't allow opponents to score many points (72,5 preseason and 83 in reg. season). Such game pace is not suitable for ALBA, because it's team relying on positional offense. Many experts on betting forums expect quite interesting game in Berlin. I accept that opinion firstly because Gottingen don't allow so many points like Alba have in the line (91 points) and I expect Getinger to score at least 75 because of their active defense and 3-pointers. Also I believe that Alba will try to slow down pace of the game where their physical strength will be more effective and to cover 17,5 points handicap is very hard task.
It is also perhaps worth of noting that Getingen maintained tactical scheme from last season, along with saving key players (3 starters and some bench players). Alba is still looking for its game style. Finaly Alba lost another defender Johannes Herber (15 minutes + 5,5 points in the first two games), but Getingen probably will play without one of their centers M. Schroeder due the injury.
In my opinion Alba's handicap is higher than should be at least points by 5-6 points especially against team which covered handicap set by bookmakers both times in first 2 games. I think today it's hard to expect 3rd victory in a row for Göttingen, but I can't see big defeat here too. But considering that Getingen is rookie-team and did not played yet against top-teams like ALBA I prefer to stay with medium-low stakes for this one.
