Minnesota Lynx - Houston Comets The Minnesota Lynx became quite familiar with lengthy losing streaks last season as they finished tied for the league's worst record. Also for Minnesota this game will be a back-to-back after today's overtime with Detroit. They were forced to did a flight from other part of America and maybe their legs would not be so fresh as they would like. On other side Houston is well rested but 0-6 away from home with 4 losses by 8 points and more. I think that 8-points handicap is not fair in this situation but I have no clue what kind of Minnesota we will see today. Their level of play is not so bad as their recent results shows. This team is capable of scoring 85-90 points any day and if they were leading against Shock in Detroit we should respect them and respect their offense which is 2nd in the league after Phoenix Suns. But Minnesota defense is not so brilliant to put Houston total to 72 points like this line suggest. They allowed more than 75 points in 9 of last 10 games and I have doubts about their ability to defend under 75 points when they play at their rhytm. Lynx defense is factor which is overstimated in this line. Houston proved that this team can score 70-75 points to Indiana and New York defense, which is much better than Minnesota. Houston proved that they can score 88 points to fast-tempo teams like Atlanta. But until now they were playing against strong defensive minded teams and that's why their offense was not working better. Against Lynx they should get more freedom on offensive end and score at least 75 points. If they will defend under 80 points I see good chances to win this game and equal season series against Lynx. But taking into consideration that first game in Houston ended 84-84 in regular time and Lynx motivation to end this losing streak to teams full of respect (Detroit, Connecticut, Sacramento). I expect to see interesting game with host side win at the end. Mynnesota have more power on offensive end and I expect them to use this advantage against Rockets today.
