Union Olimpija Ljubljana - CSKA Moscow Two teams coming off big Week 2 wins square off on Wednesday in Group A when Union Olimpija hosts CSKA Moscow in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. Olimpija reinforced its reputation as a giant killer – especially at home – when it dumped Olympiacos 87-78 last week. This game could be a true test for Olimpija, to see if the club can become a force – at least at home – and challenge for the Top 16. One of the more interesting head-to-head matchups worth keeping an eye on pits Dragic against J.R. Holden and Papaloukas. Also, Olimpija's 2.20-meter center Begic will face Alexey Savrasenko, while the explosive Milic and hard-working Zupan test themselves against Smodis, Marcus Goree and David Andersen. Rarely will CSKA not be a favorite when it takes the floor this season and that will be the case this week, but CSKA also cannot make the mistake of underestimating Olimpija, as so many teams have paid for doing in the past.

ASK Riga - Lukoil Academic Game preview This historic showdown tips off the 2007-08 ULEB Cup season and will undoubtedly spark plenty of memories of the first-ever European continental club final played in 1958 and won by ASK, which won their rematch a year later and the 1960 title as well to become the first dynasty of European club basketball. Bramlett and Dwayne Broyles have carried the team, which will be making its ULEB Cup debut. Lukoil, meanwhile, has become a regular in the competition, appearing in its fifth straight ULEB Cup. Zeljko Lukajic, who coached Hemofarm to the 2005 ULEB Cup semi-finals, has the Bulgarian champs in top form early going into the weekend with a perfect 7-0 record in their domestic competition And while Nenad Canak and Donta Smith lead the way for Lukajic's troops, Lukoil can also call upon the experience of the competition's all-time leading scorer, 30-year-old Todor Stoykov. |

Upim Bologna -La Fortezza Bologna Bologna derby. Sure it's a bit risky to bet on derbies but here I see some value on Upim Bologna. Virtus (La Fortezza) is not showing good form in last 2 weeks. They suffered 2 losses in Italian league, one hard win over Zalgiris where lithuanians deserved win more, and than loss to Tau Ceramica. Also Virtus have some roster problems (Giovanonni, Spencer, Di Biella and Chiaciq have injuries) as well some inside problems.
