Lithuania vs. Czech Republic Both teams have qualified into semifinals and the only thing they have to decide is who will be first team in the group. Playoff opponent is uknown because France will play against Russia at the same time and I doubt that Spain will lose to Sweden and let Sweden to grab 2nd place. |

VS. Washington Mystics vs. New York Liberty The Washington Mystics posted a blowout victory in their first game under interim coach Jessie Kenlaw. Two blowout losses to the New York Liberty are likely part of the reason she's now in charge. Coming off their most impressive win this year, the Mystics look to avoid being swept in their season series with the Liberty as the teams meet on Wednesday at the Verizon Center. Washington (9-14) had lost six of eight - including a 77-56 loss to New York on Thursday - before coach Tree Rollins was fired on Saturday. The Mystics also lost their first game of the season versus the Liberty, 79-60 on May 22. After promoting Kenlaw on an interim basis, Washington posted a decisive win by beating Seattle 89-57 on Sunday. The Mystics had lost their previous two contests by a combined 58 points.
"It feels awesome," Kenlaw said. "I didn't know what to expect. I feel like doing flips it feels so good."

France vs. SpainThe only game I like in today's U-18 EC line is this one. Reason is simple - this game is very important for Spain and they are huge underdogs here. After their loss to Russia in first game and yesterday Russia slump against Sweden they are obligated to win this game to avoid points differential tie at the of the second group stage. Only 2 teams from this group will qualify into WC-2009 and also those team will continue to play for medals here. At this moment France, Russia and Spain are main candidates for 2 spots but Spain already have -16 in their points difference if this team will collect equal points what is very possible if Spain and Russia win today. |

In the waning seconds of the Detroit-Los Angeles game, a scuffle on the floor led to the ejections of three players and a Shock assistant coach. Plenette Pierson, Candace Parker, former Mystic DeLisha Milton-Jones and coach Rick Mahorn were all kicked out of the game. Cheryl Ford left as well due to an injury. Deanna Nolan and Shannon Bobbitt received technical fouls. Los Angeles managed to win, 84-81. Here's the game story. There are some interesting quotes, so it's definitely worth the read. Below you can watch video of the brawl from ESPN, so you can judge for yourself |

Romania vs. CroatiaAs for this is 50/50 game and Romania at 2.80-3.20 looks very tempting to take. They showed some quality in matches against Ukraine but were demolished by Slovakia (host team) and Czech Republic one of the favs on this tournament. Croatia was good only against serbs which are not looking impressive so far, croatians are not good in offense and allow many points too. |
