Montepaschi Siena (ITA) - ALBA Berlin (GER)
ULEB Cup opening game. Looking at teams stats it's quite difficult to find good pick for this match because both teams have the similar statistics they score 79-83 in offense and allow about 69-72 in defence. But we should remember that German BBL league is not so strong as Italy league where Siena have 4-1 record. In German press I have found some articles where it's clearly said that ALBA is still not at 100% but till now their class difference helped them to win. But I doubt that today they will have this factor playing for them because for me Siena roster looks much impressive than Alba especially under the basket where italians have few men to rotate and keep the rebound battle in their hands. In offense Siena also have advantage. And what I like here Siena coach like up-tempo basketball and want to develop offensive club in Siena. He wants to organize his team attacks in first 10-15 seconds and as he said in interview "we should not slow a down a game rhythm". ALBA also likes fast basketball but this year they are no so strong at 3 point line as they were last year, but they offense works perfect this year against average German teams. Maybe it will work well this evening for 3 quarters but in one quarter I expect them to struggle in offense and this quarter will be a deciding talking about game winner. But I am still pretty sure that both teams have all chances to score more than bookies suggest and that's why I decided to take over in this game.
