Bamberg started late in the preparation. With center Alexander Johnson, former Miami Heat, the team was only ten days ago completed. "Only the national players were missing, then there is something coming our desire players for the center position to commit," Wolfgang Heyder is aware of the delay. In addition, the team remains on the injured point guard John Goldsberry which is very important for this team because he arrived from Artland togethen with head coach Chris Fleming and he knows all his system perfect. Bamberg won only 2 games of 5 in preparation period by 3 and 4 points (against Nymburk and PRO A club from Munchen). 

Ulm saved the core players from last season including Gibbs and signed some good additions like Fitzgerald (NCAA), Finn (Beykoz), and trio Travis, Tripplet and Joyce who were playing for one university team 2 seasons ago. Team started to train on August 14 and after month of preparation should be in better conditions than Bamberg which just finished their roster complectation process.

-11.5 line is normal for Bamberg in their best moments of season and mainly such huge nandicap is based on the line history when these teams plays in Bamberg. Right now I suppose Bamberg is not ready to be such hot favourite against any club in Bundesliga and personally I would set 5.5 pts handicap here because I expect close game with possible equal chances for a win in the end. Surely Brose Baskets are favourites  because of their very strong home court factor but this is a new team, with many new players and new coach... everything can happen including Ulm win.
