VS. NY Liberty vs. Washington Mystics The Mystics waived center Lindsay Taylor this morning and created what Tree Rollins called a "three-headed monster" at point guard. Washington claimed third-year Crystal Smith (5-6, 121) off of waivers from Minnesota, but Smith won't be available to the Mystics immediately, General Manager Linda Hargrove said, because of an injured foot that could keep her out of practice for a couple weeks. |

Detroit Shock vs. Indiana Fever I fully agree with the movement of PinnacleSports line from 139 to 142 points. Detroit in 3 matches of this season allowed 84, 66 and 74 points, while scoring 70, 85 and 64 points respectively. The coach notes that Detroit does not yet know the optimal roster because in his team at each position he has 2 more or less equal players. Points could be scored by any player of Detroit Shock and it makes their team very deep in scoring. I think that 70 points is not a problem for them especially when playing at home. They don't have injury problems and Indiana Fever defense is not so strong away from home as in Indiana. By the way it's too early to speak about Indiana defense because they played first game with their regulars against Mystics. |

New Orleans Hornets vs San Antonio Spurs
NEW ORLEANS (AP) Jannero Pargo spun through the air on a one-handed dunk attempt, stuffed himself on the front rim and fell backward onto the court while his New Orleans Hornets teammates buckled over in laughter. Tyson Chandler, showing no lingering effects from a foot injury last Tuesday, quickly grabbed a ball and mocked the whole sequence - fall included. If the young Hornets are nervous about Monday night's Game 7 against the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, it didn't show after practice on Sunday. Chandler joked that having three days off after Thursday's Game 6 loss helped his conditioning because he was able to spend more time with his 2-year-old daughter. No Hornets team has advanced to a conference finals in the 20-year history of the franchise. However, this squad, led by first-year All-Stars Chris Paul and David West, already has led the organization to new heights, including a franchise-record 56 victories in the regular season. |

New Orleans Hornets vs San Antonio Spurs ESPN previewIn evening their best-of-seven series 2-2 with a 100-80 rout of New Orleans, the Spurs did everything we've become accustomed to seeing over the past few years. Each of their big three produced big numbers, with Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan combining for 54 points in the first three quarters to put the champs up 85-61 before the Hornets waved the white flag. The Spurs' ball movement was outrageously good, with the ball flying around the perimeter once one of the big three gave it up and seemingly always landing in the paws of an open shooter. That enabled the Spurs to shoot 58.9 percent through three quarters and assist 22 of their 33 field goals; nearly all the ones that weren't assisted were straight screen-and-roll drives by Parker. |

Cleveland Cavs vs Boston Celtics LeBron James swished a few uncontested 20-foot jump shots. He made layups, finger rolls, 3-pointers and free throws - a few left-handed. He even worked on a few trick shots in a friendly game of "P-I-G" On Friday, James hardly missed. It's so easy when the Boston Celtics aren't around. Cleveland's superstar looked relaxed and upbeat on Friday as he and the Cavaliers, down 0-2 in the Eastern Conference semifinals, studied film and shot around while trying to figure out how to solve Boston's boa-constricting defense.Over the first two games, James shot 19 percent (8-of-42) from the field. The All-Star forward committed twice as many turnovers (17) as he had field goals (8). He's 0-for-10 on 3-pointers, and his 16.5 points per game average is 13.5 lower than his league-leading mark during the regular season. |
