VS. New York Liberty - Detroit Shock The Shock and New York Liberty begin the battle to represent the East in the league's championship series as they open the best-of-three conference finals at Madison Square Garden on Friday night. Detroit made its first trip to the finals and won its first title in 2003, and after consecutive first-round exits, won the championship again in 2006. The team's bid to repeat fell short as the Shock dropped the deciding Game 5 of the finals to Phoenix last September. The Shock appear determined to get another shot at the championship this year. They won six of their last seven regular season games to claim the conference's top seed, then defeated Indiana 2-1 in the first round. |

Seattle Storm - LA Sparks
Both teams are defensive minded and I expect them to continue playing in defense as hard as they to achieve their goals of the season especially in vital for both Game 2. So far they played 16 quarters this season and only 1 of 16 was with 40 points. All others were under this total and the most important than normal scoring norm when for these teams is 32.5 pts per according to their games this year.

Great Britain vs. Israel
Claiming a victory over Great Britain used to be a foregone conclusion, but on Saturday Israel will be entering its must-win EuroBasket 2009 qualifier in Liverpool as an underdog.
"We were a disgrace and I apologize to the State of Israel," guard Raviv Limonad said after the humbling defeat at the hands of the Czechs. "The campaign, however, is not over yet. We must win in England, although it won't be easy to lift our confidence and level of play in such a short time."

Chicago Sky vs. New York Liberty
New York Liberty starting center Janel McCarville, who fell to the floor in pain after attempting a layup late in the fourth quarter during Sunday's win over Chicago, looked as if she suffered a major injury. But the final prognosis left a positive feeling on Monday after a MRI revealed McCarville had back spasms. At this moment she is listed as day-to-day but I doubt that Liberty coach will use her in the last games of regular season which does not mean nothing for Liberty because they secured 3rd spot in Eastern Conference. The loss would have been significant, especially with the team was already shorthanded due to the absence of Shameka Christon (hamstring) and Tiffany Jackson (stress fracture). After Olympic break New York Liberty has only 2-5 ATS record and game in Chicago will be 4th in 6 days for them and I have some seriuos doubts about their legs condition. |
