2 Free NBA Picks for Tuesday Night PDF Print E-mail
Written by Alleks
Tuesday, 21 November 2006

Honestly speaking today's line is very tricky to play with medium-high stakes so I recommend you to lower your stakes before betting on today's NBA line. I see only 2 picks which worth a shot in this line. And here are they:

Chicago Bulls at Denver Nuggets
As I already told in one of my previews Chicago Bulls is 90-95 points scoring team with any style opponent. But they failed to score 90 points in last matches against Spurs and Lakers but generally they were not so bad as result show. And the main reason is that they have one starter turned off in those games: with Spurs they had Nocioni scoring 1-10 from the field, with Lakers they had Kirk Hinrich with 1-7 performance from the field and Chris Duhon 0-5 (and Nocioni back with 30 points).

And here is one interesting story I found on the Net (after game with Lakers):

Kirk Hinrich stood solemnly just outside the shower, wrapped in a towel as if in shock. Ben Gordon walked glumly to his locker, head down. Players talked quietly, and then Andres Nocioni spoke, unhappy on what could have been a celebratory evening for him.

"We lost... that's it," said Nocioni, who set career highs with 30 points and 6 of 9 three-pointers, the lone bullet in the Bulls' mostly empty gun. - "The last couple of games I played really bad, but when I came here tonight I [thought] about my shot, played hard. Now we have the game with Denver. We need to win. We are losing too many games."

"This was one of the best efforts we had in a while," Skiles said. "We really played hard. Our defense was tight, ball movement was good. I thought beginning to end we did what we set out to do, which was play with intensity. We just couldn't make a shot."

"The formula for us is having three or four or even five guys play well, but we couldn't get anything going," Skiles said.

So what is the moral of this story? The moral is simple: sooner or later crazy Bulls will be back on track and why not to do this today? Tell me a reason why bookies set them only as 3 points underdogs? Don't you find it really strange? Team being on 4 games losing strike is only 3 point underdog against rolling Nuggets. Seems that bookies expect really close battle here and I agree with them. I like Bulls chances here but I still can't trust them to put my money into their win. That's simply is not my game style to play on the series especially when team is in questionable form, but what I expect from this match is Bulls' offence to comeback.

Last year these teams had 2 games with the same squads (only Wallace was added to Bulls roster). And in 6 of 8 quarters 50+ points were scored and the game was faster. It means that Bulls have accepted Denver game style and the same I expect from them today. As you know Denver have beat 206 points total in 7 of 8 games and showing really good offensive performance, while their average total is about 212 points.

I expect to both teams to score more than 100 points and if Bulls will be able to hold Nuggets under 105 points they will have a chance to win this game.

Free NBA Pick #1: Over 205.5  @ 1.95 PinnacleSports

Miami Heat at New Orlean Hornets

“We`ve always been a semi-run, power post-up team and go from there and now we don`t have that, and we won`t have it for probably six weeks,” Riley told the Palm Beach Post. “You can`t reinvent the wheel in 24 hours, but probably over the next week we`ll change things offensively to get more people involved and see what we can do to be more efficient.”

Last season games:
NO 107 - MIA 92 (199)
MIA 109 - NO 102 (211 in OT, 180 before OT)

I am sure that both teams will score 90+ points today. Miami will try to push tempo and Hornets will accept their 'small ball' game. It's hard to tell who will win but I think that this line should be at least equal, because Miami can win without O'neal and they proved this already last season. But considering that Orleans is in-form team right I avoid to bet on Miami to cover handicap.

Houston Rockets at New York Knicks
New York is allowing only 98.4 points in defence if we would not touch their last game with up-tempo Celtics when Boston scored 50 points from free throw line (!!!) by doing 68 FT attempts. In offence Knicks scored in the 90-96 range in 6 of 10 games played games. Sure they can score 100 points but they should play up tempo game to reach this number and I doubt that Houston will allow them to play full court basketball today.

Houston allowed less than 95 points in 7 of last 10 games while their average defensive ability is about 92.5 pts/game. In offence I can't say that Rockets are 100+ pts scoring team, they did only 2 times in 10 games and their average offensive performance is about 95.5 points. Today they will have advantage under the baskets and I expect another double-double from Yao Ming today but I don't think this will enough to score 100 points.

In last 2 seasons these teams average total was only 180,1 pts per game. And this season they had 197 points game but in 3 quarters of that game they scored only 143 points (47.6 per quarter) and I expect the same scoring today. I my opinion this game will end in 183-191 points range. Not more.

Free NBA Pick #1: Under 196 @ 1.91 PinnacleSports

Phoenix Suns at Golden State Warriors

Series history

The Suns won three of four meetings last year and 29 of the last 39 overall. The Suns lead the all-time series 118-75 but are 44-51 in Oakland.

Scouting report

Warriors — With Don Nelson back on the bench and up-tempo back in vogue, Golden State won its fifth straight and ran its home record to 6-1 with a 107-95 win over Seattle Saturday. Without Troy Murphy (sore Achilles) and Ike Diogu, and with Baron Davis slowed by bruised ribs, Golden State used only seven players but got 31 points from Monta Ellis and 19 points and 12 rebounds from Mickael Pietrus. Murphy is questionable for tonight. Davis is expected to play.

Suns — Phoenix is still looking for its first road win (0-4) and hopes to have Steve Nash back tonight after his back felt better on Sunday. Leandro Barbosa has three straight double-doubles — the first three of his career — but is coming off a poor shooting night (4-for-16, 0-4 from 3-point range) against the Jazz.

Betting analysis

Bookies still waiting for official statements about Davis and Nash health but according to my web research both are likely to play and this will do this game a reach block buster. Over/under line is something a public is waiting for but I expect this total to be about 220-225 points and it's would be really hard to me to bet on any over or under here. But what I like here is that Phoenix Suns are 0-4 in away matches, but in all those game there had comfortable lead but did not manage to close a game.

But today Suns should be concetrated on getting this win. They have in-from Amare, Bell is playing well and Marion after 35-pts effort at Utah. If you will add well rested Steve Nash to this line up you will unstoppable scoring machine (Amare + Bell + Marion + Barbosa) with experience assist driver (Steve Nash)... I agree that GS are well looking right now but healthy Suns are just better than them and I'm pretty sure that if Suns would win at least 2 of those 4 away games and Steve Nash status would be clear we would see Suns as 4-5 points favorite today.

Predicted scenario

Formula-1 tempo game style with both teams scoring at least 115 points. Suns will win because of better experience, deeper bench and higher motivation. Suns are just better in all components (if Nash will play):

Predicted score

Suns  132
Warriors  120

Free NBA Pick: Spurs at Kings PDF Print E-mail

San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Kings

Quotes from Covers.com preview:
There’s no arguing that the Sacramento Kings are a different team at home, and this year, they’re doing their best to make that impression early on.

Sacramento opened its season with four straight wins at Arco Arena and is 3-1 against the spread. Though it’s not much of a surprise after their home dominance last season, when they went 27-14 straight up and 25-16 against the spread. here’s no arguing that the Sacramento Kings are a different team at home, and this year, they’re doing their best to make that impression early on.

“Confidence has a lot to do with playing winning basketball,” says Covers Expert Ted Sevransky. “And there’s no doubt Sacramento has a lot of confidence playing at home.”

A lot of the value in Kings home games also comes from their rabid fan base. Sacramento has a league-best 317 straight sellouts at Arco – an arena widely considered one of the loudest in the league.

“The crowd is certainly a factor,” says Sevransky. “It’s very loud and can be very intimidating, especially to young teams. I don’t think it will intimidate an experienced team like the Spurs quite as much.”

The Kings took Games 3 and 4 of their Western Conference quarterfinal by scores of 94-93 (as 2-point underdogs) and 102-84 (as 4 ½-point underdogs) before the Spurs closed out the series at Arco in Game 6, winning 105-83 as 2 ½-point favorites.

One negative for the Kings is that they’ll have to tackle the Spurs’ formidable frontcourt without center Brad Miller. The 7-footer tore his plantar fascia in his left foot on Nov. 4 and will be out until at least mid-December.

My betting analysis:

This type of game is a type when I like to back on Spurs. They like to play so called "public games" and they like to show who is the best in NBA, and for sure they will be really motivated today at Arco arena. But  Kings will be motivated too. And this game should be really interesting game to watch.

I think that Spurs will win today because of "Duncan factor", Brad Miller loss will cost too much today for Kings under the basket where Duncan will be a king today. Duncan has four career 20-20 games against Kings, his most against any opponent. But I don't to back Spurs tonight because their defence is not working well and their road record is 4-0, sooner or later they will lose and today's public bet could be taken by bookies because everyone expect that Spurs will win.

But I prefer to choose over 186.5 here because both teams are not superb in defence at this moment of the season. Spurs allowed 90+ points in 6 of 9 games (average 91.8), while Kings allowed in 5 of 8 (97.8). And both teams are scoring at least 90 points in most of their games. Today Kings game plan should be to overscore Spurs in full court game because they have no chances to win playing half court game without true centers. I expect both teams to score more than 95 points in case of close match or Spurs to score 100-105 points and Sacramento to score about 90-95 points if Spurs will win this game comfortably So the pick is:

Pick: OVER 186

Chicago Bulls at SA Spurs
For me Bulls are 90 points team and till now they failed to score less than 89 points only once in Sacramento  88-89. Today they will met Spurs, sure Spurs will be motivated after loss to Charlotte but I still don't see their defence. They are 92.8 points in defence and allowed 90+ points in 6 of 8 played games. So for me more correct Bulls total is about 91 points points and maybe more if Ben Gordon will continue his shooting night which he had in last game at Houston.

In offense Spurs scored 95+ points in 6 of 8 games while their average is 190.5 points per game. And more of that Spurs is 104.5 pts against Bulls in last 4 home matches. So I see this game ending somewhere about 102-92 for Spurs and it's worth to try an over here.

Free NBA Pick #1: Over 182.5

Philadelphia Sixers at Phoenix Suns
The Sixers (4-3) broke a three-game skid Wednesday in Seattle with ex-Arizona star Andre Iguodala tallying 12 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Allen Iverson ranks third in the NBA with 29.4 points per game. Chris Webber, shooting 37 percent, is seeing less playing time.

Suns guard Raja Bell got to the NBA on all-out effort and vigor. Turning down his intensity dial is no easy task, even when he returns to the starting lineup tonight with sore ribs beneath a padded vest.Steve Nash left practice early Thursday because of his back and is questionable for tonight's game. He tweaked his back when he slipped during Monday's practice.

In last game we have Amare'2004-2005 version when whole Phoenix were rolling in NBA with their high scoring basketball. And seems that they have found their rhytm this season and only problem I see here is Nash status for this game and bench players performance in last game with Memphis when they scored only 7 points in last quarter. But what can you say about 39 3-pointers attempts in that game and 25 Amare points scored from 2pts zone? Seems that this team find their offense and I expect this offense show-time today even if Steve Nash will stay on the bench or play limited minutes. But honestly speaking Phoenix Suns are not 5-2 but 2-5 and this should be a great motivation factor for them especially against Philadelphia which is struggling at Phoenix every year.

Hot trends to consider:

Head to Head
Favorite is 7-0 ATS in the last 7 meetings.
Home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.
76ers are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Phoenix.
76ers are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

Over/under
Over is 8-3 in 76ers last 11 games playing on 1 days rest.
Over is 4-0 in Suns last 4 vs. Eastern Conference.
Over is 5-1 in Suns last 6 games as a favorite of 5.0-10.5.
Over is 8-2 in Suns last 10 games following a S.U. win.
Over is 4-1 in Suns last 5 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5.

Both teams are well rested so I expect super high scoring game and Phoenix to blow out Iverson and his Sixers again.

Free NBA Pick #2: Over 212.5
Free NBA Pick #3: Phoenix -7.5
P.S. Both picks are good if Nash will play if not it's to lower your stakes.

New Jersey Nets at Indiana Pacers
I don't have time to write long write up here. The reasons are simple:

1. Indiana Pacers don't have weapons to stop Vince Carter (look at their playoff series)
2. Nets scored 95 and 96 points in playoff series to slow tempo Pacers and today they will score even more to high-tempo Pacers
3. I think that Pacers are not so good yet to beat Nets easily

So I recommend you to consider following picks:

Free NBA Pick #4: NJ to score >91
Free NBA Pick #5: NJ +5

Prokom Trefl Logo VS Dynamo Moscow Logo

Prokom Trefl - Dynamo Moscow

predicted score

75-69

Pick: Prokom +5 @ 1.71 Bet365.com

Game preview:

Prokom Trefl and Dynamo Moscow will square off for the first time in their respective histories on Thursday for a Group A encounter in Sopot, Poland. Prokom (1-2) is coming off a 23-point drubbing at the hands of Olympiacos, but returns to Olivia Sport Hall, where it has won four straight. There were a few bright spots for coach Eugeniusz Kijewski's side in Greece, with shooter Donatas Slanina coming through with a season-high 19 points in 19 minutes, while point guard Justin Hamilton delivered 15 points. Dynamo trailed by 7 points midway through the fourth quarter last week against Climamio, but finished the game on a tear to improve to 2-1 this season. Playing without center Lazaros Papadopoulos, Dynamo found a go-to guy in forward Antonios Fotsis, who scored 26 points on 10-for-13 shooting and grabbed 8 rebounds. Dynamo enjoyed a bye-week in the Russian League, which allowed coach Dusan Ivkovic's squad some extra time to rest and to prepare for Prokom, although Papadopoulos remains out of action. That means that in addition to Fotsis, reserve centers Andrei Trushkin and Yuri Vasilyev will need to rise to the occasion. That won't be easy against one of the top centers in the competition, Huseyin Besok. Though injuries have limited his minutes, Besok has been his same dominant self on the court, averaging 10 points and 6 rebounds in just 19 minutes per game. Besok is joined by Tomas Masiulis, Adam Wojcik, Filip Dylewicz and Michael Andersen in a deep and versatile frontline that will try to wear Dynamo down. Bojan Popovic, Dmitry Domani and Travis Hansen form the spine of the Dynamo bakcourt. Playmaker Eddie Gill could be ready to take on an extended role after more time with the club and his presence would help, as Dynamo is ranked third-bottom in the league in assists (8.7 apg.). The Prokom starting backcourt of Rashid Atkins and Hamilton, backed by Christian Dalmau and Slanina, has been a responsible unit so far, helping the team commit only 33 turnovers all season, one more than the league's best. Prokom's guards will have to find the balance between attacking the basket and feeding the big guys to maximize the team's chances. It's nearly impossible to know what to expect from Dynamo with Papadopoulos a question mark and a pair of inexperienced big guys ready to step in, but this could be a defining moment in their career and one that all fans should see.

Betting analysis:

Dynamo will play without their key players L. Papadoupoulos and this will hurt them. Without him they will be forced to change their schemes in offense and defense and some players will be used more than they were used later. Sure Ivkovis is a great coach but Poland team home court is not a best place to make such experiments with team. Prokom is very tough to beat at home and today they will be better prepared for this game comparing to Dynamo. I think that this line is totally wrong - it should be at least equal one as for me and maybe Prokom could be a slight favorite (2-3 pts) to win this game. This will be correct which I would touch but current line is a must play for me because I simply can't see Dynamo winning comfortably in Poland without Lazar.

This game will be a close one until final whistle so we should prepare a bit more beer than we used to lighten our stress during a game :) And if seriuosly I expect Prokom to win this game by 4-7 points.
