Partizan Belgrade - Armani Jeans Milano
MATCH PREVIEWPartizan Belgrade will look to build on last week’s impressive win when it hosts Armani Jeans Milano at the Pionir Arena in the Serbian capital. A win for the hosts could go a long way towards establishing the paths these teams are on as the race for tickets to the Top 16 from Group D starts to take shape. Partizan has impressed this season, losing by a single point at Efes Pilsen in Week 1 and stunning Real Madrid last week. Head coach Dusko Vujosevic’s men have produced at both ends of the floor, with newcomer Stephane Lasme and giant center Slavko Vranes doing the dirty work in the paint, Aleksandar Rasic and Milenko Tepic outside and forward Novica Velickovic helping out everywhere. Meanwhile Milano has started the season with back-to-back losses, first at defending champion CSKA at last week at home against Efes. With another tough road game at Madrid next week, head coach Piero Bucchi’s charges must earn a tough road win to avoid a 0-4 start and will try to accomplish that goal in Belgrade. Making matters even more difficult is the team’s injury list, which includes three of the club’s most important players. Big man Pape Sow is out with a foot problem, while guard Massimo Bulleri and Luca Vitali have recovered from their respective injuries, but are not yet in gameshape. Accordingly, Milano will turn to swingmen David Hawkins, Marco Mordente and Jobey Thomas, who have carried the team’s offense in recent weeks, while looking to playmaker Yohann Sangare, forward Mike Hall and big man Mason Rocca to raise their production.
BETTING ANALYSIS With no doubts AJ Milano currently is one of the weakest teams in Euroleague. Without 3 important players it is almost impossible to dream about win at Pioneer arena with crazy fans supporting home side. Milan should have many problems in psychological area because they are not used to such woeful conditions in away games because italian away games are very conservatic and don't press opponents from 1st minute until final whistle. In last few games AJ Milano showed that they can't play without up and downs and those "downs" could be up to 10-15 points.. Partizan on other side showed that they are still representing a real power playing at home. Maybe they are not looking so strong as they were last season but with Rasic, Tepic and Tripkovic being in-form they can win against most of the teams in Euroleague except big ones. Win against AJ Milano is very important for Partizan so I expect fully motivated and well prepared Partizan team for this game. However handicap which is set around 10 points looks like a fair one because Partizan is not top-calibre team and AJ Milano will try to fight for difference in any case because it important for them too. I think that best chance to look for value is to try under because both teams are playing in low pace and both have good defense. I expect that both teams will not score more than bookmakers set in the lines. But I am not recommending to take this bet as a strong one because I don't see enough advantage here. My estimations are 142-150 while bookies expect to see 147-154 pts game. Prediction: Partizan 78 - 66 AJ Milano Pick: Under 151.5 @ 1.88 Expekt
